Genesis 47:13-31; Genesis 48 NIV & Genesis 49; Genesis 50 NIV
As he blessed Josephs sons…that was interesting…God really spoke to them and blessed them each.
Matthew 16:21-28; Matthew 17:1-13 NIV & Matthew 17:14-27; Matthew 18:1-9 NIV
20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
All it takes is faith…why is it so hard to have faith in things?
Proverbs 3:1-10 NIV & Psalm 15:1-5 NIV
There are many things – tything always stands out to me…give of your first fruits…this I must remember.
It sounds so simple to be among those that may enter the sanctuary…I think it is much more difficult that it sounds. It is far too easy to get caught up in the world, in people…I find myself constantly reminding to keep my eyes on God…keep them fixed, all will be forgiven, pray always…keep myself fixed on Father.
Genesis 46; Genesis 47:1-12 NIV
I like how they bless each other…God really is good…
Jesus speaks and he really does tell us everything…it is God who opens our eyes and hearts to the love of Jesus and all that he is.
Okay…no excuses…started a new job and I am not used to being gone…that is still no excuse…this is Gods time and I am taking it from Him so I have 3 days to catch up on!~
Genesis 38; Genesis 39 NIV & Genesis 40; Genesis 41:1-40 NIV & Genesis 41:41-57; Genesis 42 NIV
I love the Story of Joseph…I ended up listening through Genesis 45 – this touches my heart that God has such a greater plan that we can every imagine…He sees the BIGGER picture…Joseph told his brothers not to feel bad that it was God who did this, who sent him before them…God allowed the brothers to bear the burden of what they did so they would repent and turn their faces toward God and ask forgivness…the whole time it was Gods plan in order that Egypt would be saved. I could really read this over and over…it does touch my heart so deeply how God is in control.
Matthew 13:36-58 through Matthew 15:1-9 NIV
The stories of Jesus and his disciples are amazing…to be able to walk with him and teach and learn from Him…how great that would have been…but we still can just by opening our hearts and quieting our voice/mind.
Wisdom is a good thing to gain…wisdom in God…I love what He is teaching me…I want to walk on the straight & righteous path.
Somewhere I missed a day…not sure what happened there…
As I am reading I am amazed at what happens…sometimes in a book you can almost see what is coming…in the Bible, I guess I don’t expect so much “bad” stuff…I assumed that once they were circumsised they had an agreement but I could also not understand how that would make the violation of her okay…so, when they killed all the males…I was a bit surprised…God protected them as they moved on to another place to live.
Lots of geneology…I get lost!
I have always loved the story of Joseph – he perseveres through many trials and he really is living by the will of God.
All the stories about Jesus teaching…they are amazing…I will have to read them over and over to allow them to be deep within my heart with understanding…I really enjoy these readings.
That is almost scary…how it speaks of wicked men and how they do wicked things but in the end God is a God and Ruler of all…he hears me, he hears my heart cry out and I must do all I can to listen and hear his guidance.
Jacob traveling and met his brother Esau, he also wrestled with the Lord and the Lord named him Israel.
I love listening to jesus words as he teaches.
Moral Benefits of Wisdom
1 My son, if you accept my words
and store up my commands within you,
2 turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding,
3 and if you call out for insight
and cry aloud for understanding,
4 and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God.
6 For the LORD gives wisdom,
and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7 He holds victory in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
8 for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.
9 Then you will understand what is right and just
and fair—every good path.
10 For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
11 Discretion will protect you,
and understanding will guard you.
Jacob and Laban made a covenant. What will happen to Rachel…she stole her fathers gods – they must be statues that he worships?
Lord of the Sabbath, God’s Chosen Servant…Jesus healed on the Sabbath.
Something about the following is speaking to my heart…
15 The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug; their feet are caught in the net they have hidden.16 The LORD is known by his justice; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands. Higgaion. Selah
17 The wicked return to the grave, all the nations that forget God.
18 But the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted ever perish.19 Arise, O LORD, let not man triumph; let the nations be judged in your presence.
20 Strike them with terror, O LORD; let the nations know they are but men.
These passages/verses make me think of our country…the needy, sick, poor and of Haiti and the devestation they are experiencing and will continue to feel for a life time. It seems our freedoms have also bound us as we condemn each other for beliefs and fear of “discrimination” – our country was founded on the very belief that God is the king and ruler of everything yet we have removed him from…everything. I want to serve our Father until the day I pass from this earth to Heaven…I do not want to be considered wicked or one who forgets God…
As we pass through this day Lord, please keep in our hearts and minds the very existence of you – we are nothing without you. Allow your sacrifice to lay heavy on the hearts of many that they may turn to you Lord and give thanks and praise to your name. Father, I have sinned and I ask you to please forgive my judgemental character and taking offense to things that should be handed to you oh Lord. I love thee so very much and I give all praise to you. Thank you Father for all you do. I love you.
It seems there was a lot of deceit back then…I guess not different than today. Jacob had a plan to prosper and it did work…he was very blessed.
28“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
To find peace and solice in the Lord is such a good thing. When I read the words “gentle” and “humble” it puts the great peace over my body – when I think of how we live day to day – in chaos and turmoil…so busy, cluttered within our minds – there really is no rest in our world…we must find this in Father God.
Praise be to God.
Birthright was very important as well as giving a blessing to a child. Why would a person not want to read the Bible…the stories are amazing and so similar to today.
John the Baptist – Jesus speaks of him
Nothing is speaking to me this evening…maybe because I am tired. I do enjoy what I am reading though…I feel in my heart that God is speaking to me as I read…actually, more like he is helping me to listen and learn his history as it may unfold this day. Going to bed…the tragedy in Haiti is something that I will pray for – so many people are devastated…
As I said before, these stories are amazing. People recognized that Isaac was blessed by the Lord and came to him to make treaties that they would not harm each other…they wanted to live in peace.
Just these verses from Matthew 10 are amazing and I think I will have to read them again and again…they speak of the 12 apostles going out and spreading the word but they also seem to speak of things that will happen and how to be watchful and not be taken in by evil.
“but whoever listens to me will live in safety
and be at ease, without fear of harm.”
That is the only verse I like… how can we not fear the Lord? All it takes is a heart to listen and a mind to obey – to love the Lord with all we have. I would never want the Lord to laugh at me or mock me…
Late again…posting this on the morning of the 12th day. We had family over and before I knew it I was sleeping…
I sure do love reading the Bible…this is the story of Rebekah and Isaac…well, how Abrahams servent went to get Rebekah – a wife for Isaac. God is so good – it seems it was he who chose Rebekah.
Jesus could hear their thoughts, healing the sick, driving out demons…our Father God is so good to us.
Very beautiful and acknowledging that God has blessed us with so much…things that I think we have taken for granted. God is truly amazing and all powerful and just so perfect.
